This is NOT HPBT (HOLLOW POINT Boat Tail) ammunition. The box is improperly labeled. The little indent in the top of the projectile does NOT make it "Hollow Point". This is OTM (OPEN TIP MATCH), BT (BOAT TAIL). Properly labeled this is OTM BT ammunition. This is very accurate ammunition, with the high overpressure loading it will shoot a very flat trajectory, but it is NOT hunting ammunition. This is target or competition, or military sniper grade ammunition for use at very long ranges (far exceeding normal deer or hunting applications). In in a military sniper mode this ammunition is designed shoot a very flat trajectory at a very high velocity to punch through some very heavy clothing and/or light/medium barrier. This ammunition will NOT expand like a hollowpoint would in a hunting role and will far over penetrate and keep going for a LOOOONG way out the otherside of a deer. Even as a "self defense" ammunition, against a human threat without body armor, this ammunition would go through the threat, out the other side, out the wall, out of your house, and down the street until it hit something really hard and thick.<br />

SSA has marked the boxes wrong. Look at the rounds and you can see their mistake and then realize this is military grade/competition match grade ammunition. -

Have shot 7 rounds, 4 rounds in an AR10, 3 rounds in an M1A, out of 2 different boxes. Have signs of severe overpressure, such as blown primers (primer gone) to primer extrusion. Have fired several hundred rounds of milsurp through both rifles with no signs of overpressure! Strongly advise NOT buying or firing this ammo!

Put a box thru my Socom 2 out of an XS 50 round drum to check the quality of the ammo. Shot as well as Fed 168g sierra match, if not a bit better. Was stocking up on the Federal till the big scare, don't want to pay 40 a box when you can find it, switching to this ammo for my bug out/stockpile.

Excellent ammo I was able to achieve .36 inch 3 shot group. My best group ever. I think that's awesome for ammo that is not even sold as "match" ammo.

Using my Armalite AR-10 I was able to consistently achieve one inch groups at 100 yards using this ammo. The ammo performed perfectly with no jamming or other problems. I was using a Redfield 4 X 12 scope. The rifle has a 20 inch barrel. I would highly recommend this ammo.
