The 404 Jeffery was designed specifically for hunting Africa’s Big Five, and this cartridge from Hornady’s Dangerous Game Series ensures the caliber will perform admirably while you’re out hunting the largest creatures to roam the savannah. (North America’s grizzlies wouldn’t fare much better against this round than a rhino would, too.)This cartridge features its manufacturer’s 400 grain DGS projectile. The bullet’s broad, flat meplat transmits simply outstanding energy upon impact, and is less likely to be turned aside by tough hide than a round nose bullet would be. The rigid nose of the DGS further works to prevent deformation that would have lessened its accuracy. The DGS has a heavy copper clad steel jacket wrapped around its tough high antimony lead core, so it’s robust enough to penetrate the densest muscle and shatter the thickest bone.
