Corbon calls it the “Pow’RBall.” Unlike the lottery, it’s for people who don’t like taking chances. The tough, accurate jacketed hollow point’s nose cavity seats a rigid polymer sphere. The sphere facilitates feeding in semi-automatics (a benefit 38 Special handgun owners won’t appreciate). More importantly, it prevents the bullet’s nose cavity from becoming useless as a result of accumulating compacted debris, such as that from drywall or clothing. The sphere does nothing to hamper terminal expansion. Quite the opposite, in fact, as the force of impact drives it into the nose cavity where it accelerates more powerful expansion.

This is overpressure (+P) ammunition. It is more powerful than the ammunition antique 38 Special firearms are designed for. Make certain only to fire it in guns that are specifically designed for it. The 38 Special +P cartridge is still substantially weaker than the 357 Magnum, and safe for all firearms chambered for the latter.
