This 280 Ackley Improved cartridge excels at taking all North American game animals thanks to the power of the Partition.Nosler’s Partition may look like a simple soft point at face value, but this round’s 160 grain bullet has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. The Partition takes its name from its dual core design, and its rear and front alloy lead cores each serve their own function. The rear retains no less than 66% of the bullet’s total weight, so it keeps the momentum it needs to penetrate deeply. The front delivers massive expansion, especially as the Partition’s thin jacket mouth instantly ruptures and then proceeds to peel backward following impact.
The Partition also features a sleek nose and jacket profile, as well as special crimp locks that prevent deformation under heavy pressure. This is a 0.482 G1 ballistic coefficient bullet, which doubles down on its bone-crushing penetration and breakneck expansion by retaining more than 1,475 ft lbs of energy until it crosses the 500 yard mark.
