This Hornady Superformance .257 Roberts ammunition is specially designed to increase your rifle’s performance by up to 200 feet per second without increasing barrel fouling or felt recoil. Leaving the muzzle at a velocity of 2945 feet per second, each round generates 2253 foot pounds of game-dropping energy. Loaded with 117 grain Hornady Super Shock Tip (SST) bullets, these loads produce a higher ballistic coefficient than the standard soft point hunting bullet. This is achieved with the addition of a pointed polymer tip. This design makes the projectile more aerodynamic and allows for flatter trajectories and improved long-range accuracy. The red polymer tip also works to initiate reliable, controlled expansion in soft tissue, producing large and devastating wound channels. These innovative projectiles also feature Hornady's signature InterLock ring system which solidly “locks” the copper jacket to the lead core during expansion. This helps retain weight to produce deeper penetration and hard-hitting energy transfer.
