Use these 20 rounds of .30-06 red tracer ammunition as a fun novelty load or aiming aid. Each of these traditional red tracers produces a bright red streak of light when shot. The trace begins immediately upon exiting the muzzle and continues to trace for an impressive 400 yards.
Originally developed as a military aiming aid, tracer ammunition allow military shooters to visually track the trajectory of their rounds. WIthout seeing the round’s impact, shooters can easily adjust their aim to reach the intended target.
Each tracer cartridge features a pyrotechnic charge at the base. This charge produces a bright trail of light when the primer ignites the propellant powders. The red trace is most visible at night, but is still bright enough to easily see even in broad daylight.
Red tracer ammunition is generally fun and safe to shoot. However, this is live ammunition and standard firearms safety should be followed. Red tracers also pose a mild fire hazard and care should be taken when shooting near dry brush or other highly combustible materials.
