Hornady's "LEVERevolution" line of ammunition is not only safe for use in lever-action rifles but exhibits superb performance in terms of successful hunts and flat trajectories. These .30-30 Winchester cartridges are crowned with Hornady's Flex-Tip Expanding (FTX) projectiles which feature a soft elastomer tip which won't set off a primer in a tubular magazine. Unlike conventional lever-gun loads, FTX bullets resist drag in-flight in order to achieve startling accuracy. Each bullet is crimped into a new, reloadable brass casing which has been fitted with non-corrosive Boxer primer and filled with a precise amount of high-energy propellant.
Upon impact with a target, the 160 grain FTX bullet will begin a controlled rate of expansion while the projectile's interlock ring secures the copper jacket to the lead core; this results in excellent weight retention and unhindered momentum which appropriately delivers energy to vital organs for ideal terminal effect. 160 grains is comparable to many cast projectiles in the .30-30 caliber and has been proven effective on numerous deer and hogs.
