The Deer Season XP label represents decades of Winchester’s clever research into deer hunting projectiles. This round’s Extreme Point bullet simply dominates deer, which makes this 270 Winchester ammunition one of your best bets when you’re aiming at antlered creatures!

This round’s bullet’s polymer tip is quite striking. It is undeniably enormous, but it’s not just meant to grab your attention. The Extreme Point’s extreme tip streamlines its frontal profile while simultaneously distributing more of its weight toward its base. Alongside its jacket’s ballistic profile, its tip gives the 150 grain 7mm bullet a relatively high G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.457. If you aim to 200 yards, the bullet won’t have to rise above the bore by more than 2.15”.

The giant tip continues to work once it has found its mark. So big a tip serves to initiate virtually instantaneous terminal expansion, and also sends a shockwave of deadly energy throughout the quarry’s surrounding soft tissues. The Extreme Point’s contoured jacket helps to spread expansion outward at an even rate, and its resilient alloyed lead core only optimizes energy transfer even further.
