200rds – 243 Win Hornady Superformance 95gr. SST Ammo

Hornady Ammunition 95 Grain SST Ammo Details

Deer don’t want us to sell you Hornady Superformance 243 Win ammo. But we don’t care what deer want – unless we are planting a food plot, in which case we pay close attention to the deer’s known preferences.

The biggest star of a Superformance cartridge is its propellant, which is meticulously formulated to accelerate a rifle’s muzzle velocity by as much as 200 fps. Despite this round’s performance-enhancing powder, it will not generate extra recoil or chamber pressure. It doesn’t even deposit extra fouling in the barrel!

This round’s Super Shock Tip is nothing to gloss over, however. The 95 grain bullet is ballistically efficient (G1 0.355) enough to transfer over 1,000 ft lbs of energy to a target just shy of 400 yards away. The SST’s boat tail, increased bearing surface, secant ogive profile, concentric jacket and gracefully tapered meplat are all accountable for its impressively flat trajectory.

The SST doesn’t stop impressing on impact. That’s when its cannelure and InterLock ring both begin promoting exemplary weight retention. The mostly intact bullet uses its momentum to tunnel deeply through the quarry’s sinewy body – quickly undergoing lethally wide terminal expansion all the while.

Hornady loaded this ammo’s SST bullets, reloadable brass cases, Superformance propellant and uniform Boxer primers at their factory in Nebraska (home of Carhenge, which we prefer over Stonehenge because it is American).
