This round’s 90 grain bullet is the ELD-X – Hornady’s premier polymer tipped hunting bullet. The ELD-X features the Heat Shield tip, which remains undeformed regardless of how violently it is heated by air friction, as well as a balanced AMP jacket and ballistically efficient boat tail and secant ogive profile. The ELD-X’s 0.409 G1 ballistic coefficient reflects its laser-like trajectory, which rises a paltry 3.36” above the bore line before it terminates at a 250-yard target.

The ELD-X’s tip is nestled within its lead core’s nose cavity. It slams inward on impact to initiate massive terminal expansion that wreaks havoc on organs and soft tissue. The ELD-X’s InterLock ring ensures that it loses no more than half of its total weight following impact within 400 yards. At longer ranges, the bullet may exhibit as much as 90% weight retention!

Hornady’s best-in-class Boxer primers and clean-burning powder place this ammo’s muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel at 3,150 fps. Reloadable brass cases too, of course!
