200rds – 223 Rem PMC X-TAC Match 77gr. OTM Ammo

PMC Ammunition 77 Grain Open Tip Match Ammo Details

The Sierra MatchKing has been fired to win more target competitions than all other manufacturers’ bullets … combined! If you want ammo that’ll group shots closer together than the hairs on a barn spider’s patoot, then PMC’s X-TAC Match label 223 Rem is just what you’re after!

This round’s MatchKing open tip match bullet is a subpar choice for deer hunting. Instead of delivering terminal expansion, its small nose cavity only exists because it gave passage to the molten lead which hardened into its form-fitted core. That and the MatchKing’s spookily concentric jacket give it the in-flight stability it needs to manifest a 0.372 G1 ballistic coefficient (noting that PMC recorded the 77 grain bullet’s 2,790 fps muzzle velocity with a 20” test barrel). If your sights are 1.5” high and you’re aiming to 500 yards, the bullet will only have to rise 22.32” above the bore line and then drop to -27.9” once it reaches another hundred yards downrange.

PMC’s South Korean-made components are all worthy of backing up so extraordinary a bullet. That includes shiny polished match grade brass cases that’ll make any semi-auto run like a well-oiled engine. Those shells are great for handloading, too!
