This 12 Gauge shotshell from Winchester’s Long Beard XR line of ammunition is loaded with 1 3/4 ounces of #6 Shot-Lok shot. Winchester developed Shot-Lok to give hunters a lead shot that mimics tungsten’s superior downrange performance, providing them with a more affordable turkey hunting ammunition. The shot pellets are coated with a special resin that essentially turns into powder during ignition and which does a great job of buffering the payload as it flies down the barrel. The results are impressive -- lead shot which retains its sphericity to fly in a very tight pattern, with double the amount of pellets in a 10” circle at 60 yards. You’ll get measurably better penetration on a turkey, even beyond 50 yards, giving you the superior range needed to take out so perceptive and rugged a bird without having to shell out extra for a premium tungsten load. Having more money never hurt anyone!

I’ve used Winchester for years. This load here will knock a turkey down for the count at sixty five yards and his head tore up with these number 6. They are extremely tight patterned in my Remington 870 with a extra tight screw in 3 inch turkey chock. Can’t beat a Winchester. Even my 308 and 30/06 loves the ballistic tips.
