The reason the 2 3/4 shells are same length unfired as remington (for example) is because S&B is ROLLED not CRIMPED. The crimped style unfold to 2 3/4 when fired, the S&B already are 2 3/4 and don't get longer after firing. Thus, they can stick more shot inside the shell. Which, of course, means you can get one less shell in the tube when loading.

These are actually a full 3" shell NOT 2 3/4". I stood one on my desk next to a Federal 3" and they are the same size. The packaging and shells are mislabeled! Do NOT buy if you need 2 3/4".

This ammo does not work properly in shotguns with true 2 3/4" chambers, as my Ithaca 37 has. The rounds will load into the chamber okay, but after firing they cannot be extracted. You have to put a cleaning rod or wooden dowel down the barrel from the muzzle and pound the fired shell case loose. This ammo claims to be 2 3/4", but it apparently requires a 3" chamber.

This is great buckshot. Patterns well, recoil is relatively mild (for 12ga 00 buck), price is right, 12 pellets is a bonus in my opinion. This is my favorite shotgun ammo for the money.

This is good 2 3/4" ammo, but is slightly longer than the "same size but less pellets" Federal LE Tactical 2 3/4" (9 pellet). Not an issue generally, but the slight length difference means I can only get 4 rounds in the tube of my Benelli M-2 Entry (14" bbl) where I can get 5 rounds of the Federal. Just a slight bit longer, but enough to make a difference. Other than that (and that might not be an issue with longer guns) it's great ammo.

Ran 50 rounds of this through my FN SLP. No problems with cycling nice groups.
