Belom 123 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

Looking for an upgrade from the steel-cased stuff you’re accustomed to pumping through your AK-47? Then check out this case of 7.62x39 ammo by Belom! It’s loaded to military specifications, so it’s intensely reliable and ready to provide outstanding value at the range.

This cartridge has a standard 123 grain bullet, loaded to a conventional 2,350 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel. The bullet’s lead core is toughened up by the addition of antimony, and its solid brass jacket helps even more to prevent deformation. The FMJ bullet will not expand during penetration, but since it lacks steel it’s ready to roll at indoor ranges which ban magnetic projectiles!

Belom also loads new production brass cases with non-corrosive Boxer primers, making this ammo both clean shooting and perfect for work at the reloading press. Belom’s hard-working ammo performs dependably in extreme temperatures and is furthermore waterproof, making this case of ammo as suitable for long-term storage as it is all-day target practice.

Good looking ammo, shoots well and reliably, yielding about 2220 fps out of a 16" AR-15 barrel. However I bought a case of this (7.62x39) for the brass, which I intended to reload. My first frustration was that these cases would not fit into my Lee shellholder; apparently the case heads are ever so slightly larger diameter than other brands. Bought an RCBS shellholder, and problem solved. Next frustration is that the primer pockets will not accommodate my (Remington, Winchester, or CCI) large rifle primers! Both of these frustrations are unique to Belom, as I reload various other mfg's cases without problems. I'm pretty sure I can solve the problem with yet another tool to ream/uniform the primer pockets, but this is a little more than I bargained for. Honestly I'd give this ammo 5 stars if I wasn't reusing the brass but as a reloader I'm way disappointed.

This Ammo runs better than any other I have tried to run through my AK 47. Has not miss fed! Not a single misfire, and accurate. I use it whenever I can get out to let two, or three hundred go. I am in the center almost every shot at the 100. Great ammo, and it doesn't smell like someone just cut a fart.

This ammo is crap. Lots of excess powder messing up my maxim pdx. Can only get 20rnds through before things won’t feed. Switched ammo and rifle cycles perfectly.
Maybe this isn’t made for SBRs. Buyer beware.

Belom is good brass ammo. No bad rounds so far and I've shot almost 800rds. Better than Igman ammo I can say for sure. The plastic boxes of 20 in a box makes opening them with a screwdriver a must. But the packaging helps FedEx not ruin them in shipping like some other rounds i had shipped by FedEx.

Good quality brass cased ammo for indoor ranges and those with AR 7.62x39 platform that have a softer firing pin strike. Steel cased for the outdoor range, brass for inside for the AK guys/gals.
Ammo to go got me my order in two days. Double boxed well so no broken ammo boxes. Thanks guys! I'll be back for more soon.

I only purchased this ammo because I couldn't find any 6.5 Grendel brass at a decent price so I pulled it apart and re-sized to 6.5 Grendel. The brass seems uniform, although after the first loading it fell below the COAL recommended in the manuals. The bullets will be re-sized for a 300 black Out or a 308.

More than fair price and I received it in just a couple of days. How refreshing.
