Hornady Ammunition 168 Grain ELD Ammo Details

Hornady has created the Vintage Match brand to support owners and fans of classic, wartime rifles who love to participate in High Power Rifle matches run by the NRA and the CMP. As such, these .30-06 rounds are crafted to yield excellent performance from the M1 Garand and M1903 Springfield rifles. Hornady's ammunition is backed by nearly 70 years of experience in custom ammunition production alongside specialty projectile design. Their penchant for top-tier bullets enhances these cartridges as well since each round is crowned with an ultra-accurate Extremely Low Drag (ELD) match projectile which weighs in at 168 grains; this is a common weight for the caliber and provides a balance between recoil, flat trajectory, and long range ballistics for competitive use.

The ELD Match bullet bears a tapered Heat Shield tip which shrugs off drag during travel and resists the melting experienced by weaker polymer blends. When combined with the uniform dimensions of the AMP copper jacket, this meplat design produces single-hole precision at impressive distances. Each bullet is crimped into a reloadable brass casing with a non-corrosive Boxer primer. Hornady powers these .30-06 Springfield cartridges using clean-burning powder which leaves behind very little residue during ignition; this is especially important for vintage rifles that you wish to preserve for as long as possible.
