200rds – 5.56x45 Barnes Precision Match 69gr. OTM BT Ammo

Barnes Bullets 69 Grain Open Tip Match Ammo Details

Barnes pioneered the all-copper bullet, and they’ve revolutionized hunting with their TSX and TTSX projectiles. But the Utah-based manufacturer doesn’t exclusively load monolithic bullets. They make a real banger of a competition grade open tip match (OTM) as well!

This Precision Match 5.56x45 cartridge puts the long-range accuracy of Barnes’ Match Burner bullet on full display. The OTM makes use of its balanced and form-fitted lead core and concentric jacket to achieve optimal in-flight rotational stability. Its boat tail (BT) helps the OTM to stir up less drag so it can attain an 0.330 G1 ballistic coefficient. That protects the bullet from subsonic destabilization until it reaches approximately 850 yards!

Newer shooters often mistake the OTM for a hunting bullet, but its nose cavity does not in fact supply any meaningful degree of terminal expansion. This sniper load would certainly crush a varmint, but you’ll make the best use of its pinpoint accurate bullets and match brass and priming while you’re accessing the far reaches of your rifle range.
