Golden Bear Ammo
Golden Bear is a part of Barnaul Cartridge Plant JSC, a Russian ammunition manufacturer that provides a wide variety of products for gun owners all across the globe.
Golden Bear is one of the three “Bear” brands from Barnaul. The others are Silver Bear and Brown Bear. Golden Bear, however, is distinct from anything else on the market, thanks in large part to it’s use of quality materials and design. It is made from steel cases that have been coated in brass, giving the ammo its stunning gold appeal. The brass, however, is not just for looks, as it allows the steel cases to cycle perfectly through the chambers of rifles and handguns. By using steel cases with a brass coating, as opposed to all-brass cases, Golden Bear is able to offer more affordable ammunition without sacrificing reliability.
The Golden Bear ammunition is available for rifles in .223 Remington, .30-06 Springfield, and 7.62x39 options. Different products are loaded with soft point, hollow point, and full metal jacket bullets.
You can also find handgun ammunition from Golden Bear. This includes a 9mm Luger cartridge that is loaded with a full metal jacket, making it an excellent choice for high-volume range shooting.
Golden Bear also has a selection of shotshell ammunition for .410 bore firearms. Available with slugs or buckshot, these shells use the same brass-coated steel case design that makes the rifle and handgun ammunition so effective.
Barnaul is not just a producer of ammunition, as the company as a whole makes some of the finest industrial goods on the planet. Based in Russia, the plant’s history goes back to 1869, when Emperor Alexander I built the first cartridge plant in St. Petersburg. The plant supplied the Russians during World War I, but during World War II, operations were moved as German forces were dangerously close to seizing the facility. It was decided to move the facility to Barnaul, where production of cartridges was resumed.
It maintained production during the Cold War but was finally allowed to flourish when the Soviet Union collapsed. The company is currently the largest producer of cartridges in Russia, but it also supplies ammo for American, European, and Asian markets.
