Lead Round Nose

Lead round nose 44 special ammo is one of the oldest style of modern ammunition. Lead round nose, or LRN ammunition, is very affordable and combines the properties of both full metal jacket ammunition (FMJ) and jacketed hollow points (JHP). Lead round nose ammunition is capable of deforming when hitting a target, as well as substantial penetration, making it a bit of a hybrid cartridge.

44 special rounds loaded with a lead round nose bullet is less likely to ricochet since the impact will deform the round. This makes lead round nose ammunition a capable varmint load perfect for pest control. The lead round nose can also be a suitable self-defense and field loads.

I have A S&W Model 29-2 , 4" that is 35 years old and in pristine condition. I shoot the .44 Special Wheel Gun Ammunition rather than .44 Magnum Ammo to avoid unnecessary stresses and bore erosion when target shooting , plinking etc. I keep full house Remington .44 Mag. Ammunition on hand for hunting/serious work. The ability to diversify is welcome.

These are good for seeing where you are accuracy wise with your new .44Mag/Special... They are also very comfortable to shoot when getting someone new to wheel guns, especially with say a S&W 629. The recoil is comparable to that of a full sized 9mm auto and accuracy out to 50 yards is very, very good. My daughter will learn to shoot with this load very soon. And the muzzle crack is very low and friendly as well. I'm buying at least another 150 rounds of these for me and to teach new shooters. They are good to have on hand!
