I bought some of this and took it out over the weekend. Excellent ammo, cheapest 54R you will be able to find; I was surprised by the accuracy.
I used a hammer and screwdriver to open it (I don\'t have the tool). If you do this, be careful; the edges will be very sharp. It will take a while to clean as well; make sure to clean it immediately as this is corrosive.
Overall, excellent. Very happy with my purchase.
Bought these to take to the range with friends - worked perfectly well in my Mossberg 590. Saves the wear and tear on your shoulder, too. Comes in 8 boxes of 10 shells each in a nice carrying case.
Very accurate out of my Savage Scout Rifle. Used this round last deer season 4 hogs and 1 spike buck with a total of 5 shots. All were taken at ranges between 60 and 110 yards. The bullet performed perfectly each time, good expansion and penetration.
Agree with above review from Brett. These things are a nightmare in the Taurus Judge. First one fired, jammed the cylinder so it would not rotate to the next shot. Had to fight like hell to get the cylinder open, and then had to use a wooden spoon handle to push the spent shell out of the chamber. Tried these on two different occasions with the same result. These are for the money very accurate and reliable up to 300 yards and they don\'t seem to be affected by spin drift. They load very smoothly in my Remington 7400 as well.
Nice round. Good spread at 10 feet. Taken multiple snakes out with only one shot needed for each of them. 5ft rattler being the largest earlier this month. A must have for pests.
