Sierra MatchKing projectiles are one of first choices that precision handloaders turn to for winning long range matches and breaking world records. These bullets measure exactly .284 inches in diameter for use in custom 7mm-08 Remington, 7mm Weatherby Magnum, and 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum cartridges to name a few. These hollow-point boat-tail (HPBT) projectiles possess a very thin jacket for a focus on accuracy with an undetectable variance in thickness.

This 7mm MatchKing HPBT design has an elongated boat-tail rear, tiny hollow point meplat (tip), and 12 caliber secant ogive for optimum drag resistance and high ballistic coefficient; these provide resilience to shift caused by wind, humidity, pressure, and overbearing temperatures for tight groups at extreme distances. Each of these projectiles weighs within 0.30 grains of the 180 grain advertised weight.

The secret behind the MatchKing's design lies in Sierra's unrivaled quality control procedures. When raw materials arrive for processing, they are checked for grain, rigidity, and uniform makeup using special metallurgical tools. The gilding metal (95% copper / 5% zinc) used for Sierra's bullet jackets have uniquely high tolerance requirements which require up to three times more concentrated analysis than any other industry standard. Sierra also enforces a 100% visual and physical inspection rule for every round and refreshes these checks using revolving personnel. With an detail-focused manufacturer like Sierra making your projectiles, it's like having your own engineering team at your reloading bench.

Sierra does recommend these projectiles for hunting loads and advises the use of a twist rate that is 1x8" or faster.
