SKEET & TRAP LOADS

Understanding the nature of the game is important regarding skeet and trap shooting. In briefest of terms, skeet is a short-range game with targets moving perpendicular to the shooters line of sight while trap is a long-ranger game with targets moving more away from the shooter. That being said, the use of the 410 for either is easier to understand. The 410 is a short-range gun. Some think that attempting trap shooting with the 410 is a waste of time and ammo. The nature of the 410 shotshell also comes into play, so a comparison is in order. The ratio of bore diameter to the number of shot in the 12 gauge allows more of the shot to arrive at the target at the same time. However, the smaller bore size of the 410 causes the shot to arrive at the target in a linear pattern meaning the shot do not all arrive at the same time. Using the 410 for either skeet and trap will definitely push the shooter to more technically correct shooting and aiming. There are a number of factory offerings suitable for the skeet or trap shooter.
