Engineered to be the world's premier .44 Magnum load for whitetails, Buffalo Bore Deer Grenade ammunition features a 240 grain soft cast lead projectile. Although these bullets are categorized as “soft cast, “ they have a BHN (Brinell Hardness Number) of 12, making them more of a medium/hard cast bullet. These bullets are engineered specifically to do effective damage on whitetails and other similarly sized game animals, offering only about 30 percent penetration when compared to standard hard cast flat nose bullets. This level of penetration is perfect for reaching shallow organs on medium-size whitetails, black bear, and feral hogs.
Each +P overpressure round produces a muzzle velocity of 1550 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 1280 foot pounds. This ammunition is non-corrosive, boxer primed, and brass cased. Each package contains 20 rounds.
Buffalo Bore cast projectiles are properly alloyed, lubed, and gas checked. These loads will not leave lead residue in the barrel of your firearm. These factory fresh cartridges are safe to use in all steel firearms chambered for .44 Magnum and in normal operating condition. However, Buffalo Bore does not recommend using this ammunition in lightweight alloyed revolvers, because doing so could cause the bullets to jump the crimp.
