The .340 Weatherby Magnum caliber is designed to shoot the same diameter bullets as .338 Winchester Magnum but with heavier projectiles and at faster velocities. As a result, these rounds are great for elk, bear, bison, and other large game animals with thick hides. Weatherby loads these cartridges with a 250 grain Nosler Partition bullet which possesses two lead cores separated by a wall of jacket material at the center of the bullet. The front core is exposed at its tip and then surrounded by a thinner section of jacket so that proper mushrooming expansion occurs at almost all impact velocities. The rear lead core retains shape and gives the bullet the weight retention and momentum needed to penetrate deeply and reach vital organs. The cartridges are assembled from reloadable brass casings and fitted with non-corrosive Boxer primers. This box comes with 20 rounds.
