Hornady's "Full Boar" lineup is more than a clever title; the .300 Blackout cartridges from this brand are engineered to take down feral hogs with efficiency and pinpoint accuracy. Each round is constructed using a clean-igniting Boxer primer, factory-fresh brass casing, and Hornady's own custom blend of propellant which has been formulated for this specific hunting purpose. Crowning the cartridge profile is Hornady's "Guilding-Metal eXpanding" (GMX) projectile which weighs in at 110 grains for flat-shooting and high velocity performance. The GMX design comprises an all-copper body with a deep-reaching cavity that is covered by a polymer windshield.
The plastic tip tapers to the curvature of the of the bullet and combines efforts with the boat tail rear to resist drag and yield impressive accuracy. During entry into a boar, the GMX projectile will undergo peeling expansion while retaining at least 95% of its original weight; this translates to optimized momentum which is necessary to penetrate past the thick hide of big hogs. The heavily deformed bullet will not exit the animal with any lethality but will instead deposit the majority of its energy into the vital organs for a quick, humane stop. These unique bullets also leave behind little residue in your favorite .300 AAC Blackout rifle.
Hornady has been known for their innovative projectile designs since 1949. Their purpose-driven ammunition offers top tier components and quality to shooters who don't reload but seek the same legendary terminal ballistics.
