20rds - 9mm Corbon Thunder Ranch DPX 115gr. +P HP Ammo Details

Corbon ammunition has earned industry respect with their high energy jacketed hollow point rounds. They continue to deliver this impressive standard of quality and performance with their DPX line. CorBon, an industry leader in high velocity ammunition, has teamed up with Thunder Ranch Training Center to produce this excellent personal protection ammunition.

This package contains 20 rounds of Corbon Thunder Ranch 9mm Luger (also known as 9x19 Parabellum) ammunition. Each round is loaded with a 115 grain Barnes X hollow point projectile. These unique bullets offer 100 percent weight retention, even after barrier penetration. Barnes X bullets are made of solid, heat treated copper for extra toughness. Because there is no jacket or soft lead core, there is no risk of core/jacket separation. These bullets hold together for deep, dependable penetration and maximum energy transfer.

Engineered with a deep forward cavity, the nose of Barnes X bullets peel back upon target impact to form four separate razor sharp petals. These petals resemble the letter “X” when viewed head on, giving the Barnes X its name. These sharp copper petals carve a massive wound channel to produce maximum stopping power and amazing terminal performance.

This ammunition is factory fresh, non-corrosive, boxer primed, and features fully reloadable brass cases. These +P overpressure rounds produce a consistent muzzle velocity of 1250 feet per second and 399 foot pounds of muzzle energy.

Good ammo. Accurate & Reliable. I have a bunch of the normal DPX in the blue box, sold under the Corbon name directly. This is the same thing except the insert inside the box is made from cardboard. The difference is, at least at fiedl glance is the cardboard or way these are packaged tarnishes the copper bullet tips and makes them look old. The ones sold under the Corbon name come with a plastic or foam insert for the bullets to rest in. They look sparkling clean as a result. I don't feel that the ammo's performance would be compromised by the discoloration, but it's an observation about the way the Thunder Ranch version is packaged.

GREAT ammo!!!!! Very expensive, but when it comes to self-defense, and my family's lives are at stake I will pay for the piece of mind this ammo instills.
I only needed to fire about ten of these from my Ruger P95, into ballistics media to see how deep they penetrate and how large they expand. Shot throught two layers of Denim and still great expansion and penetration, usually I try about 100-500 rounds out before I will rely on them for S.D. loads, but this ammo just makes me feel warm and fuzy.
I usually use Speer Gold Dot 124 Gr. JHP, Federal 124 gr JHP hydrashock L.E., Winchester supreme super X 147 Gr. Silver tip JHP (for those pesky ware wolves and Vampires that may show up any day!) and winchester supreme super X 147 Gr. JHP.

These are my new favorite right behind the speer gold dots.
Wish the price was better, but I guess you get what you pay for.
