This is a Comet hand deployable Red parachute flare. This flare will go to 300 Meters and burn for  40 seconds at 30,000 candela. It is visable for over 30 miles and will illuminate a very large area at night. It can be used as a signaling device or a distress signal. These are surplus flares.
